Northview Orthopaedic Surgery Center Receives AAACH Accreditation
Northview Becomes the only Surgery Center in Dawson, Lumpkin, White and Union Counties to Achieve this Highly Regarded Designation
February 12, 2019 (Dahlonega, Georgia) Northview Orthopaedic Surgery Center has recently been recognized with accreditation by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC). Accreditation distinguishes this surgical center from many other outpatient facilities by providing the highest quality of care to its patients as determined by an independent, external process of evaluation.
Northview Surgery Center is the only AAAHC Accredited Ambulatory Surgery Center – for any specialty - in Lumpkin, Dawson, White and Union Counties.  The closest AAAHC orthopaedic accredited surgery centers are in Cumming and Gainesville, respectively.  For Northview, this marked the second time the practice has been accredited in its 25-year-history.
“We believe our patients deserve the best,” said Dr. Alan Binkley, one of two practicing orthopaedic surgeons at Northview, located at 70 Ansley Drive in Dahlonega. “When you see our certificate of accreditation, you know that AAAHC has closely examined our facility and procedures. It also means our entire surgery staff cares enough about our patients to strive for the highest level of care possible.”
Ambulatory health care organizations seeking accreditation by AAAHC undergo an extensive self-assessment and on-site survey by AAAHC expert surveyors – physicians, nurses, and administrators who are actively involved in ambulatory health care. The survey takes one and a half days and is consultative and educational, presenting best practices to help an organization improve its care and service.
“Going through the process was very helpful as it challenged us to find better ways to serve our patients,” added Robin Millford, operations manager at Northview Orthopaedic Surgery Center. “The experience also gave us a constant reminder that our chief responsibility is to strive to continuously improve the quality of care we provide.”
