“One of the best female vocalists I’ve ever heard - Malone is an extraordinarily gifted and accomplished.” — CHUCK LEAVELL (Allman Brothers, The Rolling Stones) “Equal parts guitar slinger and sweet songstress, with masterful lyrical introspection – sublime to raucous. ”— -GUITAR WORLD Compared to most musical artists in the Americana genre, Michelle Malone seems like a pair of distressed blue jeans amidst a sea of pantsuits. Unlike the surplus of self-professed rootsy rebels, one listen to this woman from Dixie and you know you’re hearing the real thing. Her new album, Stronger Than You Think, is her strongest effort yet. Malone’s unforced, soulful voice and slide guitar playing take the blues and turn them into supremely-hooky roots rock songs that will make you wanna trash a juke joint and hi-five yourself after crying in your beer! We’ll delve into the ‘core’ of the body (including the mysterious psoas muscles) and poses, and the ‘core’ of the practices of the yogic journey. We’ll help you build a home routine and talk about the yogic principles that are the building blocks designed to help you experience your best life. Moving and living from your CORE will help you find your center on and off of the mat. Included in your weekend experience will be multiple classes daily (yoga, pilates, meditation - seated and moving) and workshops, leaving you feeling balanced and strong!! There will be scheduled ‘time out’ to explore the 70+ acres of this beautiful property, walk the labyrinth, get a massage, enjoy the beauty and delicious wine at the 7 local wineries or shopping in the quaint town of Dahlonega. Maybe you try one of the spa treatments (massage, body wraps, body scrubs, hot stone) at the resort! (available for an extra fee). Bring your spouse, significant other, best friends, co-workers, male friends, teen/adult children, etc. This retreat is for all levels of experience on and off the mat! Your instructors are Carolyn Purvis, Owner of Purvidise Yoga and Abbey Brewer, Owner of Embrace Yoga with 25+ years of combined teaching experience. Roxie Watson is a four-piece string band from Atlanta, Georgia that blends gorgeous vocal harmonies and stellar songs into live performances that will just as soon make you laugh as shed a tear. Their music combines elements of old country, rock-a-billy, bluegrass, gospel, and even a little touch of classic rock ‘n roll. Regularly selling out storied songwriting venues from Eddie’s Attic in Decatur, GA to the Bluebird Cafe in Nashville, TN, each band member takes turns with the lead vocal and contributes to both song and arrangement ideas. From the firecracker guitar playing of Bolley to the delicate mandolin of Wheeler, the propulsive bass of Lasater to the banjo poetry of Tetlow, the lap steel and button box swells to the harp and guitar rhythms of Shaw, Roxie Watson weaves a rich sound.
