Emily Saliers is one half of the duo Indigo Girls along with Amy Ray. Over the years, they have sold over fifteen million albums worldwide, including eight double-platinum, platinum and gold discs, as well as earning six Grammy nominations. In 1989, they were nominated for Best New Artist and took home the Grammy for Best Contemporary Folk Album.Indigo Girls are well-known for their social and environmental activism. They have worked for nearly two decades with Honor the Earth, the nonprofit foundation they co-founded, on issues of environmental justice and have supported innumerable grassroots organizations.Indigo Girls recently completed a new studio album, One Lost Day, produced by Jordan Brooke Hamlin and mixed by Brian Joseph, which was released on June 2, 2015.
