The Crimson Moon: DELTA MOON (Award Winning Deep Roots Americana & Blues!)

Almost two decades ago Mark Johnson and Tom Gray began playing slide guitar together — Mark on bottleneck and Tom on lap steel — in clubs, coffee shops and barbecue joints around Atlanta. The name Delta Moon came to Mark on a pilgrimage to Muddy Waters’ cabin near Clarksdale, Mississippi. Delta Moon quickly gathered a wall-full of local “best” awards. After winning the International Blues Challenge in Memphis in 2003, the band widened its travels to include the US, Canada, and Europe. Bassist Franher Joseph joined Delta Moon in 2007, adding a sweet pocket and rich bass vocals. Delta Moon’s latest album, Cabbagetown — named for one of the band’s favorite Atlanta neighborhoods — came out in 2017.
