"The last Thursday of each month I am picking a certain genre and welcoming guest performers to join me in playing original songs and a few choice covers to fulfill the specific genre. A really great aspect of this is that it can create an opportunity for all of the performers to spend some time with music that they don’t always get to play, and if they do, to force the creative process by challenging ourselves to write a new song, or all new songs (over achievers) for the show, in that genre. This is not to say that we can’t shelter in our comfort zones, it is just an opportunity for growth and exploration." -Betsy Franck
